Baby loss awareness walk

To mark Baby loss awareness week, we held a family walk around Ray Mill Island to honour and remember all of the babies sadly missed. We ended the walk with candle lighting around our memorial tree and a short reading.

Wexham memorial service

We work with and support Wexham Park hospital in holding an annual baby remembrance service.

It is an oppotrtunity for families, friends and anyone affected by the loss of baby came together to remember all our babies that have left an everlasting impact on our lives.

The service is usually held on the 3rd weekend in November and consists of were poems, readings and music, with the opportunity to light candles in memory of your baby.  We also have a moment of reflection, where we read out the babies names to remember them individually.  This was followed by teas, coffee and cake.

Awareness Garden

In June 2016 and spring 2019, members of the public were given the chance to lay a flower or name a butterfly in memory of their baby.

The aim of this event was to not only remember but also raise awareness of support in the area and dismiss the taboos surrounding stillbirth and neonatal death.

Masked starlight ball

In February 2017 and 2019 Berkshire Sands held their Masked Starlight Ball at Oakley Court Hotel.

The evening was a huge success with fantastic live music that kept supporters dancing into the early hours. There were some amazing prizes up for grabs in the raffle and auction including a week break in a thatched cottage, a digital camera, a signed football shirt and of course our giant teddy bear. The money raised helped us produce a stunning  metal sculptured memorial tree on Ray mill Island, where people can have a custom made leaf engraved for their baby/babies.

Thank you to all who organised, attended and help us achieve this amazing project.
