Wave of Light Walk

Join us annually during Baby Loss awareness week for a short walk around Ray Mill Island, followed by a collective time together of scattering floating petals into the river and lighting of candles at our baby loss memorial tree on the island.

This is an opportunity for anyone affected by the loss of a baby to come together for support and time to remember.

Great Gatsby casino night

WOW! what a roaring spectacular time we had at our Great Gatsby charity casino night. the drinks were flowing, the big band playing and of course the fun casino games were rolling. it was an amazing achievement and we are pleased to announce we raised a spectacular £4136.27, which will go towards continuing to improve care and support our local families.

Summer service at the tree

Berkshire sands holds an annual service at out specially sculptured memorial tree to come together and reflect on the short but everlasting impact our babies have had on our lives. This is a lovely way to come together as a community and spend time remembering our babies through readings, music and a moment of reflection. light refreshment are usually served after and we have trained volunteer befrienders on hand if anyone would like some support.

Awareness Garden

In June 2016 and spring 2019, members of the public were given the chance to lay a flower or name a butterfly in memory of their baby.

The aim of this event was to not only remember but also raise awareness of support in the area and dismiss the taboos surrounding stillbirth and neonatal death.
