ABOUT US

Formed in August 2012 by a group of bereaved parents, Berkshire Sands have grown from support groups through phone, email and groups to know hosting a range of support and events to anyone affected by the death of a baby.

Berkshire Sands now has many specially trained befrienders offering different kinds of support from our main Support group to our extended Rainbows (pregnancy after loss) group and memorial services.

In July 2018, we proudly launched our sculptured baby memorial Tree based in the beautiful surroundings of Ray Mill Island in Maidenhead. It offers anyone affected by the death of a baby the choice to have a leaf placed on the tree with their baby's name beautifully engraved on it.  This beautifel open space area now holds yearly events for bereaved parents and families to come together and remember their babies

Over the years Berkshire Sands has worked closely with both national sands and our local hospital to improve bereavement care and improve support given, Wexham park hospital now offer very family a keepsake memory box, support books in differing languages for every family they care. In 2019sp, a specialised home from home bereavement suite was created for families to spend time together with their babies and make them ever lasting memories.

None of this is possible without the constant support and fundraising by you all, so from all of us at the Berkshire Sands family,

Thank You
